Don Houts is the Men's Offender Coordinator/Facilitator for SAFE's Domestic Violence Intervention Program. Don has over 31+ years of experience in Domestic Violence during his tenure as a state probation/parole intensive officer. Retired from the probation field, he has been working for SAFE on a part time basis since 2004. Don is a graduate of Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida with a BA. Don feels he fits naturally into SAFE's work in domestic violence as he has always been an advocate for the victim, in all areas, and therefore certainly in domestic violence. Don states: "If we can educate one domestic violence offender about his use of domestic violence, and help him be a better, loving, stronger, partner, then that is hopefully one less abused victim,wife, or girlfriend who will have to worry about further abuse. The journey of a thousand miles begins with that very first step."
