Funded for the first time in 2008-9, SAFE started an Independent Life Skills Program as a part of the mission to break the cycles of domestic violence and sexual assault. By encouraging individuals to develop the skills they need to reach personal goals and become financially independent, one of the primary barriers to leaving a violent relationship is eliminated.
